Our yearly sabbatical
After a wonderful and rewarding season, our eighth, the Band is now on its summer vacation. Twelve concerts have past since August of 2007, and by any measure,
our season was a resounding and rewarding success thanks to our patrons, supporters, and musicians.
Our rehearsal schedule will begin for the 2008-2009 season on August 14th, and our first performance of the new season will be in late October. By all means, if you haven't signed up
for our concert notifications list, do so! The link is to the left. Our 2008-2009 season will feature music by Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, and a very special set of performances
in April of George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue in the original Paul Whiteman arrangement of 1927, featuring pianist
Celeste Matthews of SHSU's faculty and Christ Church United Methodist.
Furthermore, if you enjoy the Band, but aren't a musician, for the first time ever the Band is now actively searching for non-playing personnel to volunteer for our staff. Support the arts using your own skills and interests as a member of our library staff, grant writer, or any of a number of open positions. Now's the time to drop us a line and let us know!
See you in October!

where you can see the outline of every concert planned so far for our season. Admission to our concerts will continue to be, as always, free to the public. Come Join Us! We rehearse every Thursday evening, 7pm, at Christ Church United Methodist, 6363 Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands. We have openings in all sections, and welcome those who are just picking their horn or sticks up after a hiatus, all the way up to semi-professional and professional players after a relaxed atmosphere and fulfilling program choices.
